With the rare opportunity for a sit down chat with beauty vlogger Chloe Morello at the launch of her Benefit Cosmetics Chloe’s Brow Wardrobe – a limited-edition brow kit curated by Chloe herself – we couldn’t help but maximise the opportunity to do a little background digging into her relationship with Sebastian Maximiliano.
Just over a year since the two got hitched aboard the Seadeck on Sydney’s harbour, we wanted to know exactly how married life was treating the duo. Here, we pull Chloe aside for a tête-à-tête on everything from how she and Sebastian first met to initial thoughts to what’s next for the pair.

How did you meet?
We met on the dating app Happn and then we met up at the beach because that’s where we’d crossed paths… on Happn you can see where the other person is. We met in 2015.
Can you talk me through your first date?
We went for pizza at Coogee Pavilion, which is our favourite place. We had our engagement party there as well.
How did it go from first date to properly dating?
He’s from Canada, so we just started hanging out all the time because he didn’t know anyone – he was fresh in Australia. I started showing him around and we became friends and then started dating after that. I met his family a year later and we got engaged, and then in January last year – we got married. We’ve been married just over a year.
What was it that made you fall in love with him?
He is very family-oriented. And even though he’s the hottest thing I’ve EVER seen, it doesn’t phase him. He’s so down-to-earth and caring – and just gives everything for his family and the people that he loves. He just does not care about himself at all.
When I met his family and saw how he was with them… I think that tells you a lot about someone. His family are so close knit and that was something that made me see this was a really good guy. And we also got along just as friends. We laugh all the time, pay each other out – that’s really important to me – making jokes at each other’s expense is like the base of all relationships of mine, friendships and romantic! He has good banter.
When you first saw him, did you think that this was going to be your future husband?
It takes a little while for me to know romantically that someone will be a good long-term partner, but I thought ‘this guy is such a fun person, I want to spend more time with him’. He’s so supportive. He gave up everything in Canada to come be with me and now he shoots all my content and takes all my photos. He’s my angel! I adore him.
What do you want the future to look like for the two of you?
I would love us to have kids in a couple of years, settle down definitely in Sydney or surrounding Sydney, a beachside life, we just love it here. Easy-going. And continue to work together in the same way. He loves to create content – he loves filming and editing, which is good because I hate that part! I just hope it continues the way it is because honestly, we are in wedded bliss. I hope it keeps exactly like this.
