Kate Wasley on practicing self-love and mindfulness
Kate Wasley (or KateWas as she goes by on her popular Instagram account) is no stranger to self love and embracing your body at any size – so much so that she launched Instagram account Anybody Co with best friend Georgia Gibbs. Now, she’s become a bit of a figurehead when it comes to body positivity and acceptance, spreading messages of empowerment to women of all shapes.
With Cotton On Body’s latest campaign all about promoting a summer of self love, it made perfect sense for Kate to be tapped as one of the talent to be involved. Partnering with The Bali Bible to create a bespoke itinerary showcasing their latest swim range in Bali, Cotton On Body chose talent that stood for a message and represented a diverse range of body shapes, sizes and appearances.
To help celebrate the launch of the campaign, we grabbed Kate aside for a quick chat about all things health and happiness.
What’s your approach to health?
To listen to my body, I like feeling fit, but I also enjoy a glass of wine once in a while and chocolate, haha. I like working out to be healthy rather than to fit a certain beauty standard.

How do you practice self-love?
I own who I am at this current moment in my life and the more I do that, the more I accept myself and my body and the less I care about what other people’s judgements of me might be. I think it’s important to be honest and understanding to yourself as you would be to anyone else.
What’s your number one piece of advice for young women?
Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. Be yourself and don’t worry about impressing other people. The right people will always end up in your life.
How do you practice mindfulness?
Talking to friends.
Health hacks for a good night’s sleep?
The bedtime app! Helps you to go to sleep and wake up around the same time every day and it’s honestly helped my sleeping habits so much! Also listening to interesting podcasts seems to help me sleep better.
