Talisa Sutton launches new platform for the style conscious
One only needs take a look at her personal blog and Instagram page to know that Sydney creative Talisa Sutton has an eye for style. Now, she’s honing her skills in a new direction – today launching Badlands Journal, an online platform and digital magazine for the fashionably inclined.
Working alongside husband and creative director Rohan Peterson, the two are turning the lens beyond themselves – with Badlands Journal set to shine a spotlight on local brands and talent, while also covering covetable international stays, interactive click-to-shop beauty features, dream interiors and transportive fashion features.
Building on Talisa’s extensive experience in both the media and fashion industry, the journal will lean on skills she’s acquired via stints at Elle Magazine, working on social media and graphic design for local designers, and the creation of design collective Badlands Studio with Rohan in 2016.
Badlands Journal will be the first time that sees Talisa step into an Editor role – with the publication curating work from a talented pool of writers, photographers, and stylists hand-picked by the couple.
“If you’d told me a decade ago I would be editing an online journal, I would have quickly told you my talents lie more in the visual side of things – I’ve never thought of myself as much of a wordsmith. But if the past few years working in magazines, blogging and now co-running a design practice have taught me anything, it’s that these days we wear many hats, and when you’re passionate about a project – you can push yourself in ways you never felt possible,” says Talisa.
Going live this morning, visit www.badlands-journal.com to check out the first issue featuring model-of-the-moment Roberta Pecoraro, Byron’s most Instagram-worthy home, and a dissection of Danish street style.
