Always quirky, always edgy, Man Repeller blogger Leandro Medine has made a career out of pushing the envelope when it comes to style. And with the launch of her new ten-piece shoe line for Net-a-Porter, MR by Man Repeller, Medine is once more putting a spin on the traditional.
The electric range includes stand-out pieces such as velvet platforms with gold stars and studs, metallic leather loafers, and leather-trimmed embossed velvet boots. Each piece coincides with an equally cheeky name, we’re talking “Lol if you think I’m walking” platforms, “The Morning After” velvet flats, and “I’m Here to Party” metallic boots.
“Shoes are an incredibly escapist accessory for so many women. They’re an easy way to feel good by the simple act of looking down. All of the shoes embody my style in a way that is very honest. And yeah, I made shoes for myself, but you’re not supposed to put them on and feel like me, you’re supposed to put them on and feel like you,” says Medine.
In an interview with Refinery29, the blogger adds: ”I didn’t really think of the collection in terms of trends. I guess we touched upon the velvet trend and a higher length for boots than ankle, but I was really much more caught up in developing styles that would accommodate the holes in my own closet. How great are those velvet sandals going to look with tights and short dresses?”
