There’s no doubt about it, Gary Pepper Girl’s Nicole Warne has the skin of an angel. So it really wasn’t surprising that on her wedding day she looked almost ethereal as she stood surrounded by mountains and lakes in New Zealand – marrying long-time love Luke Shadbolt.
But while there is the tendency to believe she just stepped down the aisle looking like that with no background slog – she’s today confirmed to Into The Gloss that in fact, she’s human just like the rest of us. And by human, we mean going into the pre-wedding frenzy of beauty and fitness regimes that a bride knows only too well.
“What I found the most surprising in anticipation of my wedding was how quickly I became addicted to the prep. All that beauty and health and fitness — the bridal overdrive I see so many people jump into leading up to their big day—was never something that appealed to me… until it happened to me. For once, I didn’t feel guilty for making the time to work out or disappearing for hours to get my hair done. It’s the one time in your life that you feel like you’re “allowed” to put yourself first, and it’s so, so fun. I’ll be honest with you: It’s a lot of work. It’s tedious. It’s expensive. It’s a commitment…” Nicole tells the publication.
To understand just what kind of commitment she’s talking about, we take a look below at Nicole’s prep for the big day.
SKIN
Three treatments a week with Melanie Grant that involved a once-monthly deep cleanse using sonophoresis, once-monthly microdermabrasion, custom lactic acid and niacinamide or enzyme peels, vitamin infusions using customised actives applied with ultrasound, Bioloqigue Recherche’s BioMagic Mask or Masque VIP 02, light therapy combining red (633nm) and white light, and facial massages.
BODY
Epsom salt baths once a week and a remedial massage once every two weeks.
FITNESS
A month out from the wedding, Nicole stepped up her usual 3x per week training of crossfit, cardio, and weights to target specific areas with personal trainer Scott Madden of Body Movement 5x per week. She also did pilates twice weekly with teacher Kirsten King at Fluidform and a weekly session of Vinyasa yoga or Bikram.
DIET
Already plant-based, caffeine-free and gluten-intolerant, Nicole didn’t need to change her diet too much – but she did cut out refined sugars, alcohol, and whole grains a month out from the wedding. The last four weeks saw her diet consist of plant-based protein, vegetables, some complex carbs, fruit, and natural fats.

REMEDIES
Chinese herbal tonics by Anthia Koullouros from Ovvio Organics, Metagenics Ultra Flora LGG, Mutaflor, and Glow Inner Beauty Powder by The Beauty Chef.
HAIR & LASHES
Hair was cut two weeks out from the wedding by Diane Gorgievski at Kodacutters. Nicole also got a Lash Lift at Smooth Waxing.
TEETH & NAILS
Invisalign and Acceledent in the 6 months leading up to the wedding and a Philips Zoom in-chair whitening treatment. She got a Shellac mani and pedi a few days prior to the wedding.
MAKEUP
Nicole’s makeup on the wedding day was done by Victoria Baron who applied Chanel Sheer Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer, Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation, Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Blush #410 on the cheeks, Mecca Cosmetica Enlightened Powder for highlighter, Nars Duo Eyeshadow in St-Paul-de-Vence on the eyes, Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara, and Chanel Rouge Coco in Daylight on the lips.
